Day
01 : Delhi to Jaipur
Today drive to the colourful city of Jaipur, the state capital of Rajasthan. That owes its name, foundation and planning to Maharaja Jai Singh II who founded the city in 1727. Jaipur is noted for its varied handicrafts and bustling bazars.
Day 02 : Jaipur
Morning drive out of the hills beyond the city and ascend by painted elephant to the magnificient fortress palace at Amber. Afternoon visit the city palace complex consisting of the Hawa Mahal, principal palace rooms containing the museum and the near by Jantar Mantar observatory.
Day 03 : Jaipur to Ranthambore
This morning leave the city behind and drive through farmland and villages to the project tiger reserve at Ranthambore. Before dusk visit the park by open top jeep.
Day 04 : Ranthambore
Early morning and evening visit the reserve by jeep. Dry deciduous forest provides a natural habitat for tigers, leopard and antelop. The water pools harbour marsh crocodile and a rich variety of bird life.
Day 05 : Ranthambore to Bharatpur
Continue by car to Bharatpur which is considered to be one of the leading bird sanctuaries in the world. Consisting of 29km of fresh water swamp the reserve was originally developed by the Maharaja of Bharatpur for his famous duck shoots. Visit the reserve at dusk.
Day 06 : Bharatpur to Agra
Early morning viewing then after breakfast leave for Agra, visiting enroute the abandoned city of fatehpur sikri, the best preserved and most complete Moghul palace city of all. In the afternoon visit the immortal Taj Mahal and Agra fort noted for its fine views of the Taj across the Yammuna River.
Day 07 : Agra to Khajuraho
Today join the Shatabdi express for Jhansi. From Jhansi continue drive to Khajuraho. Later visit the eastern and western group of temples where fortright sculptures celebrate the joy of life and love.
Day 08 : Khajuraho to Bandhavgarh
After breakfast continue drive to Bandavgarh situated in the heart of the Vidhayan mountain range of central India. Dominated by a 14th century fort this reserve harbours the highest density of tigers of any Indian park. Visit the reserve by dusk by jeep.
Day 09 : Bandavgarh
Early morning and evening viewing by jeep
Day 10 : Bandavgarh to Kanha
An interesting but bumpy drive, south through kipling country to Kanha National Park which is said to be one of the finest Natinal parks in Asia. Kanha is home to tiger , bison , leopard , and the India swampdeer. Visit the reserve before dusk by jeep.
Day 11 & Day 13 : Kanha
Two days viewing in Kanha by jeep
Day 14 : Kanha to Mumbai
Leave this morning for Nagpur the orange city of India to join your flight
to Mumbai.
