DAY 1 . To Delhi
Assistance on arrival at the international airport and transferred to the
hotel for an overnight stay.
DAY 2 . Arrive Delhi
Late morning star t for sightseeing of Old and New Delhi including Humayan’s
Tomb, The Red Fort and Qutab Minar.
DAY 3 . To Agra
Early morning train to Agra. After checking into the Hotel, morning sightseeing
tour of Agra visiting Agra Fort, the creation of the fabled Moghul Emperors,
the Itmad-ud-Daulah, the magnificent mausoleum of the father of Empress Noor
Jehan, and the compellingly beautiful Taj Mahal. To end the day another visit
at sunset to linger at this monument of love.
DAY 4 . To Jaipur
Morning drive to Jaipur visiting enroute Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted capital
city of Akbar, the greatest of the Moghul Emperors. (Optional halt at the
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary). Stay at heritage hotel for two nights.
DAY 5 . Jaipur
Morning excursion to Amber Fort winding up the steep hillside on a stately
elephant. Afternoon sightseeing of Jaipur visiting the delightful Palace of
Winds, City Palace Complex, Observatory and the colourful bazaars. Optional
evening visit to Choki Dhani for a traditional Rajasthani meal.
DAY 6 . To Kishangarh
Morning drive to Kishangarh. Rest of the day at leisure to explore the delightful
Palace beside a small lake, with the grand old Fort rising up behind. Overnight
at Palace hotel.
DAY 7 . To Kota via Bundi
Morning drive to Kota via Bundi with its brooding Taragarh Fort, and the Palace
nestling in its shadow, harboring the famous Bundi murals. Stay at heritage
hotel in Kota.
DAY 8 . To Chittorgarh
Early sightseeing tour of Kota, including the City Palace, Fort and Museum
- one of the best in Rajasthan. Next drive to Chittorgarh with a visit to
the wildly romantic Fort complex, a testimony to the ideals of Rajput chivalry.
Stay at Castle.
DAY 9 . To Udaipur
Morning drive to Udaipur. Afternoon sightseeing including the City Palace
Complex built in 1725, and Garden of The Maids of Honour (once a Ladies haven,
it is still closed to men on cer tain days of the year). Sunset boat ride
on Lake Pichola. Stay at the heritage hotel for two nights.
DAY
10 . Udaipur
Full day excursion to the Jain Temples of Ranakpur and the Fort at Kumbhalgarh.
High on a ridge in the Aravalli Hills, its walls, some 36 km long are purported
to be the second longest in the world Throughout its long illustrious history
the for t has only been breached once, and has been a sanctuary for the Mewer
Rulers for generations. In complete contrast the ethereal simplicity of the
Jain temples at Ranakpur, with 1,444 superbly carved marble pillars, is a
sanctuary of peace and tranquility.
DAY 11 . To Dungarpur
Morning drive to Dungarpur, with a visit to Juna Mahal, an old deserted palace
with the afternoon at leisure. Overnight at Palace Hotel.
DAY 12 . To Mt Abu
Bright start with drive to Mt Abu staying at the Palace Hotel for two nights.
Afternoon visit to the lovely ‘Sunset Point’, watching the last of the suns
rays transform the colours of the land.
DAY 13 . Mt Abu
Morning tour to Dilwara Jain Temples, where the exquisite carvings have reached
incredible heights of beauty. Don’t miss the delightful House of Elephants
or, in the Tejpal Temple where, some of the delicate marble carvings are almost
transparent.
DAY 14 . To Jodhpur
Early morning star t for the long drive to Jodhpur, staying at the heritage
hotel.
DAY 15 . To Jaisalmer
Early visit to the Meherangarh Fort built in 1459 - look out for the lovely
Pearl and Flower Palaces. Then drive to Jaisalmer staying for two nights at
heritage hotel.
DAY 16 . Jaisalmer
The Golden City, glowing soft ochre, is magical to behold, as the sun sets
on the massive for t, its shadow dominating the barren desert land. Apart
from the imposing for t, magnificent Havelis and spiraling cenotaphs make
any visit to Jaisalmer a fascinating experience.
DAY 17 . To Khimsar
Morning drive to Khimsar staying at the Khimsar Castle. Afternoon ‘Jeep Safari’
to see rural people and village ar tisans, and perhaps glimpse the shy creatures
of the desert.
DAY 18 . To Kuchaman
Drive to Kuchaman staying overnight at Kuchaman Fort at the edge of the Great
Thar Desert. Relax or explore the intriguing for t complex.
DAY 19 . To Samode
Depart to Samode staying overnight at the Samode Palace Hotel and explore
the palace resplendently bedecked with wall paintings and intricate mirror
inlays.
DAY 20 . To Neemrana
Lazy morning exploring the Palace and Village - frescoed walls, intricate
paintings, all reflecting the supreme skill of the craftsmen. Then drive to
Neemrana, staying at Neemrana Fort Palace.
DAY 21 . Evening to Delhi
A day to explore and relax in the fascinating 15th C Fort. The Fort, perched
high on a plateau is layered like a jeweled cake - tier upon tier with glorious
views from the myriad of balconies. Leave in the late evening for the Delhi
International Airport connecting to London on British Airways.
